My grill fell apart at a block party in Toledo and now 2 million people watched me fix it with a coat hanger
Back in June I was cooking burgers at my neighbor's block party in Toledo when the leg on my old charcoal grill just gave out and dumped 14 patties straight into the grass. My wife was filming the whole thing on her phone because she thought it was funny, and I grabbed a wire coat hanger and some pliers and rigged the leg back on in about 90 seconds. She threw it on TikTok that night not thinking anything of it, and by Monday morning it had 2.3 million views and people in the comments were calling me the MacGyver of the Midwest. A local news crew showed up at my shop two days later wanting an interview, which was weird because I was elbow deep in a transmission at the time. Now random folks stop me at the grocery store asking for grill repair advice and I honestly don't know what to tell them. Has this happened to anyone else over something totally dumb you fixed in a hurry?
