The busker outside the Cleveland Greyhound station changed my mind about filming strangers
For years I thought filming random people was just rude and pointless. Then in June I watched a guy with a beat up guitar and one missing string play for a crowd of maybe 15 people waiting on a delayed 2am bus. Somebody filmed 40 seconds of him and posted it, and now the man has a booking agent. I was sitting right there thinking it was all noise. Now I ask before I film anyone and I keep the camera on when something real is happening. How do you decide when to film versus when to just watch?
