I mentioned wanting a dog bed once and now my feed is 90% orthopedic pet furniture
So last Tuesday my sister called me while I was washing dishes and I said, offhand, that my old lab Max has been sleeping on a folded blanket since March and maybe he needs a real bed. That was it. One sentence. By Thursday my entire feed was nothing but memory foam dog couches, heated cat caves, and some egg shaped thing for $180 that claims to help with anxiety. I counted 14 ads in a row at one point, wedged between a recipe video and my cousin's baby pics. I do not own a cat and I never searched for any of this stuff. My favorite was a $400 alpaca wool pet futon with a waitlist, like my dog is applying to college. Has this happened to anyone else where one spoken sentence turned your feed into a pet catalog for a pet you didn't even ask about?
A single sentence about your dog is not what caused this. You probably scrolled past a pet thing months ago, tapped it, or your sister sent you a dog video and the phone made a note. These apps build a profile over years, not one dish washing chat. The 14 ads in a row feel creepy but the timing is just bad luck on when the system decided to test you. Also, you said out loud you might buy a bed, so showing you beds is the least weird part of all this. The $400 alpaca futon is dumb, sure, but that is just stores throwing stuff at a wall to see what sticks. What did you end up getting Max, the blanket again?
