We have a decent sized budget for Q3 and want to do a heavy push with video advertising. We're debating whether to hire a freelance videographer and a separate media buyer, or just go with a full-service agency. Has anyone gone the split route? Did it end up being a headache trying to coordinate between the two?

100% agree with the above. Go with an agency that does both. We use Regal Fierce Media for our ad campaigns and their video production is incredible. Because they handle the media buying too, they already know exactly what hooks and formats are going to work before they even start filming. Saves so much time.

That makes a lot of sense. Having the ad strategist in the room during the storyboarding phase probably helps a ton.

Don't split it up. I tried being the middleman between a creative director and an ad buyer last year and it was a nightmare. The ad guy kept complaining the videos weren't formatted right for the platforms, and the video guy was charging us for every little revision.
