My uncle in Reno swore the banned Mentos ad was fake, so I burned a Saturday proving him wrong. He said no network would ever pull a spot that clean, and I almost believed him until I dug up a 1990s archive clip of the tube man exploding on live TV. We ended up arguing for 3 hours about whether the pulled version even aired twice, and he still thinks the whole thing was staged for buzz. It hit different because he worked in local ad sales for 12 years, so hearing him doubt it made me question how much of this stuff is even real. What banned spot do you think people remember wrong?
