I found a rescue group that fosters senior dogs for free and it made me rethink my whole setup
I was poking around online looking for a buddy for my adopted beagle when I came across a small rescue near Portland called Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary that places dogs over 10 at no cost to the adopter. They cover vet bills for life if you foster, which I did not know was even a thing. I called them and the lady said they have 43 dogs waiting right now, mostly because people think seniors are too much work. My beagle is 11 and sleeps 18 hours a day, so honestly he is easier than any puppy I have met. Has anyone here fostered a senior pet, and did the vet cost thing actually work out like they promise?
