Can we talk about how nobody remembers the actual Chicken Tonight jingle?
I keep seeing people hum the "I feel like chicken tonight" song but they always do it wrong. The real one had a specific arm flap move that the actors did in the 1993 ad, and if you don't do the move you're basically missing the whole point. I brought this up at a barbecue in Jersey City and got laughed at by like 6 people who all swore it was just the song. Here's the thing, the ad agency actually created two versions, one for the US and one for the UK, and they had different lyrics in the second half. I know this because my older sister taped it off TV on a VHS in 1994 and we watched it maybe 80 times. So when people say "yeah I remember that jingle" I always ask them to do the arm thing and they freeze. Does anyone else have a strong memory of the arm flap or am I the only one who cares?
