My uncle said to skip the box and just buy loose Hot Wheels, and 14 of my 22 are now junk
Back when I was 9, my uncle Ray told me the cardboard was for suckers and loose cars were the smart move. So I traded away most of my carded cars and kept my Redline era ones in a shoebox under my bed in Fresno. Fast forward to last month, I pulled that box out and 14 of the 22 have worn paint, bent axles, or missing wheels, while the two I never opened still look new. Now I'm looking at $40 to $60 each just to replace the ones I actually cared about. Did anyone else get talked into going loose as a kid and end up regretting it?
