Question about free AI note takers: I tried a local one on my laptop and a cloud one for my crew, the local one won big
I run a small plumbing crew here in Sacramento and I tried two AI note takers after every job walk. One sent everything to a cloud server and made me wait around 8 seconds for each summary, while the local one ran right on my laptop and spat it out in about 2 seconds. The cloud app also ate my phone battery and needed a login every single morning. The local tool never sent my customer addresses anywhere, which matters when you're writing down gate codes. Has anyone else switched to a local AI tool for work stuff, and did it hold up once you had more than 3 people on the crew?

Ran into the same lag problem with a cloud tool last summer, but mine was worse, it needed wifi or it just froze up. Switched to running one on my shop desktop and now I jot notes in the truck and sync when I get back. Still just me and two guys though, so no clue how it handles a bigger crew.
