Just hit 1000 air fryer cooks and I'm shocked at the grease

I was cleaning my basket last night and realized I've done over a thousand cooks in my Cosori since I got it two years ago. The real wake-up call was pulling out the drip tray and seeing a solid quarter inch of baked-on grease and crumbs I'd missed. I thought I was cleaning it well after each use, but that hidden gunk under the heating element was a fire hazard waiting to happen. It took a full hour of soaking and scrubbing with hot soapy water to get it all off. Now I'm paranoid about checking those hidden spots every single week. Has anyone else found a good way to keep those hard-to-reach areas clean without taking the whole thing apart?

Oh man, that hits home. I had the same gross discovery last month, and my first thought was that I'd been slowly marinating a future kitchen fire. My new rule is a deep clean every few weeks, whether it looks dirty or not.

I use those little foil liners now and they're a lifesaver!
