Blew $400 on a bad batch of root stimulator that did nothing
I ordered a 5-gallon jug of some fancy mycorrhizal root stimulator off an Instagram ad in March, thought it'd help with transplant shock on a big oak job. Turns out the stuff was way past its expiration date and killed the roots instead of helping. Has anyone else gotten burned buying tree care stuff from random social media ads?
Damn that sucks, Instagram ads for tree stuff are such a gamble. Honestly had a buddy order some "professional grade" pruning seal off an ad once, came in a bag with no label and looked like old caulk.
Whole internet feels like that now. Saw a guy selling "organic fertilizer" on TikTok, dude was literally just bagging up his own compost with a sharpie label. Makes you wonder how many of these products are just repackaged junk from the same warehouse. Trust has gotten so bad I basically only buy tree stuff from local nurseries now. At least you can see what you're getting before you hand over your card.
