Dropped $140 on a light pollution filter and it did basically nothing from my driveway
Live in Dayton and my backyard is washed out by streetlights, so I grabbed a 2 inch CLS filter for about $140 hoping to pull more nebula detail. Shot the same targets before and after and the difference was so small I had to flip between the files twice to even tell. I can drive 40 minutes out past Yellow Springs for way darker skies, so that money would've been better spent on gas. Has anyone actually gotten a filter to earn its keep in a city, or is this just something we all buy once and regret?
