PSA: Don't trust the cairns on the Ozark Trail near Greer Spring

A guy I met at the junction last October swore the rock piles led to a shorter route. He was wrong. I followed them for an hour and ended up at a dead end cliff. Has anyone else seen misleading trail markers out there?

Ha, you're asking the real questions. It's like that whole "is this grass artificial or real" thing you see in store displays. The mossy ones have that look like they've been sitting there since the last ice age, which is honestly kind of cool. But fresh rocks with no moss just look like someone dumped a load of gravel and called it a day. There's a whole vibe to how nature reclaims stuff over time.
