Why does everyone fast-forward the intro songs on good shows?

I used to skip every opening theme without thinking, but last week I hit that button on The Bear's intro and then realized I'd been missing the whole vibe setting for 3 seasons. It finally clicked when I rewatched episode 1 of Breaking Bad and let the full song play, the tone just hits different. Anyone else find intros are part of the binge experience or am I just weird for sitting through them?

My brother used to get so mad at me for letting intros play, he timed every single one on his phone like it was a workout. He had a whole chart of shows ranked by how many seconds he could save. Last Christmas we watched the entire first season of Severance together and I refused to skip a single one, he nearly left the room. But by episode 5 he was humming the theme song in the kitchen making coffee, so thats when I knew I won. Now hes got a playlist of all his favorite intros on Spotify and calls it his hype-up music for work.
