My old forge used to smoke like crazy with the regular lump stuff. That switch to nut coal made a world of difference, it just burns so much cleaner. What size are you running in your firepot?

My buddy had the same problem with his old setup. He switched to nut coal and said it was like night and day, way less smoke. Pretty sure he's running a standard six-inch firepot now.
