The great board game boom at my local meetup, strategy or snacks?

I started hosting a weekly board game meetup at a cafe in Portland back in February, just me and 7 friends rolling dice. By August we hit 40 regulars, and I keep going back and forth on the reason. Some say it's the social media posts I put up every Monday with a photo of the game lineup, others swear it's the $5 snack pot that got people staying longer. My gut says it's when I stopped picking heavy eurogames and started mixing in party games like Wavelength and Codenames to close the night. But maybe it's just that people crave face to face contact after years of online stuff, you know? Has anyone else seen a jump like this, and what do you think actually caused it, the games, the venue, or the vibe?
