Glue pot overflow disaster on my kitchen table last Tuesday

I was doing a batch of 6 coptic stitch journals and left my PVA glue pot too close to the edge. The dog bumped the table and I lost about 3 ounces of glue all over my notes and the carpet. Took 20 minutes with warm water and a credit card to scrape it off the floor. Has anyone tried those wide base glue pots from Hollander's, or is a heavy ceramic ramekin just as good for this?}

I once knocked over a whole quart of Mod Podge onto a rug, so you are in good company here. My dog has zero respect for drying time and even less for my sanity. In my experience a heavy ramekin works fine if it is wide enough at the bottom, but the real trick is putting the whole thing on a cheap baking sheet with a lip. That way when the next dog bumps the table you only have to wash a tray instead of hunting glue out of carpet fibers. Your mileage may vary, but I stopped buying fancy pots once I figured out the tray thing.
