PSA: Had to choose between a bone folder and a Teflon folder for a big calfskin project
I was working on a full leather binding for a client in Asheville and needed a new folding tool. The choice was a standard bone folder or a Teflon one from Talas. I went with the Teflon, thinking it would be gentler on the skin. It left zero marks, but honestly, it doesn't have the same heft or feel as the bone tool for creasing. Anyone have a preferred heavy-duty bone folder they use for thick leather?

That "heft or feel" thing is why I always pick the classic tool over the fancy new one.

Totally! It's like how a worn-in paperback just feels better than an e-reader. That physical connection to the thing you're using changes the whole experience.

Oh man, I used to be all about the newest gadgets. But you're right, there's something about the weight of a real book in your hands that just clicks. Makes me want to dig out my old paperbacks now.
