My manager quit on a Tuesday and somehow it was the best week of my career

Our director walked out mid sprint, and with nobody left to approve stuff, I finally just shipped the feature I'd been sitting on for 6 weeks. Got a shoutout in the all hands from the VP in Chicago and a 4k raise offer two days later, which is wild because I almost quit in March. Has anyone else had a boss leave and suddenly your whole job got easier?
