I laughed at my nephew for saying 'lock in' to his friends, then I caught myself using it at the DMV
My nephew is 14 and every time he got ready for homework last month he would say 'lock in' to his friends on a call, and I straight up made fun of him for it. Then last week at the DMV in Reno I was staring at form 47-B for like 20 minutes and the lady next to me goes 'you gotta lock in, honey' and I knew exactly what she meant. I used it myself at work on Thursday without even thinking about it. So is this thing real now or did I just get old enough to borrow teen words? Need someone to tell me if 'lock in' still hits or if I am already cringe for saying it.
