Found out my 'handyman' dad lied about fixing the sink for 6 months

So my dad has been telling me the kitchen sink was 'fixed' since October. I moved back home last week to save rent and noticed the drip was still there. Checked under the cabinet, the pipe was held together with duct tape and a zip tie. I took a photo and zoomed in, the tape had a date written on it from 3 years ago. He never even touched it. Asked him about it and he said 'I fixed it in my head, that counts.' Anyone else have a parent who claims they fixed stuff but absolutely did not?
