I reached $2,400 a month just from my side gig and now I'm scared to quit my job and move to Chicago
So here's my situation. I've been doing pressure washing on weekends here in Indy for about two and a half years, and last month I finally hit $2,400 in a single month. That number matters because it's exactly what my rent plus bills would cost if I moved to a one bedroom in Logan Square or Pilsen. I save every dollar I make and I've got about $9,000 stashed now. My cousin lives in Albany Park and keeps telling me there's way more work up there than I can handle alone. The thing holding me back is my day job. It's steady and boring and the insurance is good. If I move I'm betting everything on door knocking and Nextdoor posts in a city where I don't know a single customer. Has anyone here made a move like this and did the work actually show up fast enough, or did you burn through your savings waiting for the phone to ring?
