Serious question, how much does a liner really change the draft? Saw it at a house in Dayton
Did a job on a 1920s bungalow near Dayton last month and the homeowner had me pull the old clay liner out, it was cracked in 14 spots and the flue was pulling maybe half the smoke it should. Swapped in a 6 inch stainless flex liner and the difference on the first burn was night and day, no more smoke rolling back into the living room when she opened the stove door. That was over about a 3 hour install, so it makes me wonder how many guys are out there just sweeping a bad flue and calling it done instead of pushing the liner. Anyone else run into a house where the liner fix was the real answer and not just more sweeping?
