That wellness influencer who got canceled for fake medical advice actually had one point I couldn't ignore
I rolled my eyes hard when that whole drama went down with the green juice lady getting exposed for lying about her credentials. But then my neighbor kept raving about switching to whole30 after she watched the deep dive videos, and I called it a fad. Three months later she dropped 18 pounds and her doctor lowered her blood pressure meds. I still think she was wrong to lie about being a nutritionist, but is it weird that I'm kinda rethinking some of the diet stuff now? Has anyone else found legit info from a canceled source or is that just me?

That whole situation got me thinking about how we throw the baby out with the bathwater way too much in general. Like when a musician gets canceled for being a jerk but they still made that one album that changed your life, you know? Eating advice from a liar obviously comes with side of salt but the whole30 thing is basically just cutting processed garbage which doctors have been saying forever. My aunt swears by some cookbook from a blogger who got exposed for photoshopping her before pics, but the recipes are still just vegetables and lean protein. People get so wrapped up in hating the messenger they forget the message might still have some truth to it. It's like we forgot how to take what works and leave the rest.

You know what, I used to be the total opposite on this. I'd write people off completely if they turned out to be shady. But your aunt example hit me hard. My mom has this weight loss plan from some instagram influencer who got caught lying about her whole life story, but honestly the meal ideas are just solid simple stuff. Kinda forced me to realize good advice can come from flawed people.
