Vent: a brand I defended on here hit 50k followers and flipped the switch on everyone who got them there
I know this sounds like every other story on this board, but hear me out because I have the receipts. There was this small coffee gear brand out of Portland called Driftwell that I found back in January when they had maybe 200 followers. I liked their stuff, so I commented on almost every post for months, answered questions from new buyers, even sent two friends their way who each dropped around $70 on grinders. Around late April they crossed 50k followers, and I know the exact week because I screenshotted it. That was the week they turned on comment filtering and started deleting anyone who asked about shipping delays. Then they wiped their whole account for four days and came back with a link-in-bio to a drop that never restocked. A buddy of mine still has an unfulfilled order from May 3rd. What gets me is the 50k number itself, because that is right about where small brands start treating the people who built them like a hassle. Anyone else notice a follower count where a brand you supported went cold on you?
