My spindle probe took a bath in coolant and now I trust it less than my gut
Last Tuesday I was swapping a part in the machine and knocked the probe arm right into the coolant sump. It sat there for maybe 20 minutes before I noticed, and when I fished it out, the thing was dripping like a drowned cat. I dried it off, re-zeroed it, and on the next part it was off by 0.003 inches, which is bad enough to scrap a job. I spent the whole afternoon rechecking every offset and I still don't trust it, so now I'm doing manual edge finds for the next week just to be safe. Has anyone else had a probe go for a swim and come back acting weird, or is mine just haunted?
