Can we talk about picking Python over JavaScript for my first language back in January?
I went with Python because everyone in a beginner Discord server told me the syntax was easier to read, and 5 months later I actually finished a little script that renames my files, so now I'm wondering if I should try JavaScript next or just get better at Python first.
Why not do both at the same time? Python got you to a finished script, that's the hard part, so now the real win is seeing how the same idea looks in another language. Take your file renamer and rebuild it in JavaScript. You'll learn way more from that than from just grinding more Python. Same problem, new syntax, and suddenly all those little things like loops and functions click in a deeper way. Getting better at Python is fine but you already proved you can finish stuff, so cross-training now is worth more.
