My drysuit inflator stuck open on a 40 foot dive in Lake Erie
Last month I was doing a hull inspection off Cleveland and my drysuit inflator valve jammed open. I started rising faster than I could dump air and had to grab a mooring line to stop myself around 15 feet. The dump valve was fine, it was the inflator button that got a piece of grit stuck in it. I flushed it with fresh water and it worked after, but now I'm wondering if I should add a second backup dump valve for shallow water work. Has anyone else had an inflator stick on them and what did you do to fix it for good?
