Swapped my drysuit rings for a cable-tie fix mid-job

Last month off Port Angeles my cuff ring let go at 40 feet. I had two options, radio up and abort or rig a spare cable tie through the hole and hope it held. Took the tie, finished the 2-hour hull inspection, and it held fine. Anyone else run temporary fixes to avoid a second dive?

Cable ties aren't rated for that, but glad it worked. Still, that's a gamble.
