TIL the loan officer in Des Moines who showed me the actual amortization table beat the one who just quoted me a monthly payment, and it was not close

Man, that hits home. When we bought our first house the guy just kept saying "your payment will be X" and I had no clue what I was actually signing up for. Then a different lender sat me down with the full table and showed me how much of that early money goes straight to interest, it was eye opening. That first guy was basically hiding the ball the whole time and I didn't even know enough to ask. Good on you for sharing this, more people need to see it.
