Just realized my tile saw blade was cutting backwards for 2 days

I was working on a master bath in Austin last week, laying 12x24 porcelain tile. The cuts felt rough and were chipping on the edges, so I swapped blades twice and blamed the tile. Then my helper pointed out the arrow on the saw housing was facing the wrong way. I had the blade spinning backwards the whole time, not even cutting, just grinding. It took 2 days and about 30 wasted tiles before I caught it. The worst part is the saw is new, so I never thought to check the direction. Has anyone else had a tool arrive with the blade installed wrong from the factory, or did I just miss the obvious?
