That old hand sander I found in a basement job in Cleveland
Last fall I was clearing out a dusty basement before we started hanging and there was this beat up pole sander with a cork face, not the foam stuff we all use now. The homeowner said it was his dad's from the 70s and let me try it. Man, that cork floated over the compound way smoother than any of my newer ones, less drag and no chatter marks. I ended up using it for the whole ceiling and it cut my sanding time down by maybe a third. Anyone else ever stumbled on old tools that just work better than the modern versions?
