That time a microsoldering kit saved my butt at 2am in Brooklyn
I was fixing a vintage Denon receiver for a customer last Tuesday night and got stuck on a broken trace near the power supply. Pulled out my $35 hot air station with a tiny nozzle and rebuilt the connection in about 10 minutes. Anyone else find that spending a little on basic gear beats sending boards out every time?

Wait was the broken trace visible or did you have to trace it with a multimeter first?

Grabbed my meter and started poking around. Found the broken trace on an old stereo receiver. Had this one spot where the voltage just dropped off to nothing. Turned out a little scratch on the board had cut through the copper. Crazy how something so small can kill the whole circuit.
