Spent a whole weekend fighting a weird idle after my cold air intake install
Put a K&N 77 series on my 2018 5.0 and it ran fine for a day, then started hunting at stoplights. I was sure it was a vacuum leak, checked every clamp twice. Turned out the MAF sensor just needed a proper cleaning with CRC spray, something the instructions never mentioned. Who else has had a simple mod turn into a two day headache?

Bruh I learned this the hard way on my old 04 Mustang GT. Put a JLT intake on it and spent a whole Saturday chasing an idle that would bounce from 500 to 1500 rpm at every stop sign. Turns out the MAF was covered in a thin layer of oil from the filter. A $7 can of CRC spray fixed it in literally 2 minutes after two days of pulling my hair out. Now I always clean the MAF first thing after any intake job, before I even crank the engine.

You didn't clean the MAF right after the install? That's a cardinal rule for any intake swap. The oil from those filters gets all over the sensor wire. It's the first thing you should do before even starting the engine.
