Unpopular opinion: Hand tools still beat power tools for fine glass work

I've noticed more people choose hand cutters for detailed jobs lately. They let me score the glass with better precision.

That point about hand cutters giving you better control really hits home. I see this same shift everywhere now, like chefs going back to really sharp knives instead of gadgets for perfect cuts. It's about your hands guiding the work, not just managing a tool's speed. We rushed into power everything and lost some of the feel. Now it feels like we're relearning that for truly fine work, our own skill should be the main thing, not just the motor. Slower and more careful often just gives you a better result.

Nah @jesse_ward, gadgets save time without losing quality.

Can you imagine using a power grinder on something as finicky as glass etching? I saw someone try that once, and let's just say the piece ended up looking like it fought a weed whacker and lost. All that speed and noise, but zero finesse. It's like we forgot that some jobs need a gentle touch, not just brute force. Honestly, watching a pro with a hand cutter is almost relaxing, compared to the panic of a power tool slipping. We get so obsessed with faster that we miss the point of better.
