My foam roller tried to become a projectile during my cool down

I was lying on it for a back stretch after some squats. Without warning, it shot out from under me and bounced off the TV stand. My dog barked like we were under attack, and I had to chase the thing around the couch. Now I'm worried my living room is too slick for proper recovery work.

ever see one take off like that? my buddy's roller shot across his laminate floor during a hamstring stretch, flew right under his couch and put a small dent in the wall. his floor was just too smooth for the thing to grip.

Have you considered that the roller might be the problem, not the floor? (I know it sounds picky.) Laminate floors are super common, and foam rollers are meant to grip them just fine. If it flew that far, maybe your buddy was leaning into it way too hard or the roller's surface was worn down. Plenty of folks use rollers on smooth surfaces without any drama. Honestly, this sounds more like a technique issue than a flooring one.

Did your roller feel extra slick before it launched? I had that happen once and found out my cheap roller lost its texture fast on laminate. Swapping to a rougher one or just using a towel underneath fixes the slide.
