Saw a local indie act in a borrowed bookstore

They played between the shelves with just a guitar and a small drum kit. The quiet, focused crowd made it feel like a secret show. What small venues in your area have the best vibe for new music?

Did you read that article saying owners who LOVE the music make VENUES work for new acts?

Man, that bookstore show sounds perfect. It's that vibe where the space itself kinda becomes part of the music. So beyond just being small and quiet, what's the one thing that really makes a spot in your area work for totally new acts? Is it the crowd being all in, or maybe the owners booking stuff they actually care about?

Owners caring is key, but what happens when they book stuff no one wants to see? Passion without a feel for the local scene can backfire hard. How do spots find that mix between what the owner loves and what really pulls people in? Is it more about building a crowd first, or taking chances on new acts and hoping people trust the booking?
