The cafe on my corner added more outlets and faster wifi.

They know the crowd is mostly remote workers now.

You know, I used to get annoyed when cafes filled up with laptops, but this actually makes so much sense. Seeing them add more outlets is the cafe admitting what they really are now, a shared office space that sells coffee. It changed my mind because it shows they're paying attention and want people to stay, which feels smart, not greedy. I guess fighting it was pointless, this is just what these places are for now.

Caught myself getting mad at laptop campers once. Realized I was one of them. Guess I'm the problem and the customer.

Actually, I see it differently. I mean, cafes turning into office spaces kind of ruins what they were for, you know? It used to be about hanging out or having a quiet drink, not everyone typing away. Maybe it's just me, but all those laptops make it feel less friendly and more like a busy lobby. Sure, adding outlets is good for business, but it changes the whole point of a cafe. Idk, it just feels like we're losing a nice thing to more work stuff.
