inRant: That big brand apology video last night was so fake
oh man, the flip phone thing is funny but it wouldn't really fix the problem. the issue isn't the camera quality, it's that they're still reading a script in a polished way. recording on a flip phone would just look like a bad skit. what they need is to just talk like a normal person without a PR team feeding them lines. maybe it's just me but the raw file from a normal phone camera would actually work better because it shows less effort, not more.

inWhy does nobody talk about how fake those "viral" Walmart parking lot videos are?
Is it just me or do people not check the account that posted it? I always look at who filmed it before I share anything. Half the time you click through and it's a comedy group or a brand doing a bit. It saves you from looking silly when you send it to your group chat all excited.

inAppreciation post: the "no rinse" shortcut for deck cleaning that actually works
$12 for a jug that actually works? I spent twice that on a brush alone, I'm honestly mad.

inThat 'toddler speaks 7 languages' video was filmed in my local library... I saw the whole setup
And people actually believed that poor kid was legitimately fluent in seven languages. I saw them cutting between takes, the mom was off camera prompting him in Mandarin with flash cards. The whole thing was staged, they had a handler for the kid who was just feeding him lines. My niece is bilingual and even she mixes up her words sometimes, so the idea that a toddler is code-switching perfectly between seven languages is just laughable. The worst part is now my neighbor is trying to get her three year old into "language immersion" classes because she saw that viral nonsense.
