Was talking with a guy at the drafting supply shop and he said hand drafting is still faster for quick changes

That guy's 5 minute claim on vellum though - did he say if that speed holds up when you're doing something like complex roof geometry or was it just for straight line revisions?

The day I caught myself buying bulk avocados for 3 years

And the worst part is you end up eating mushy avocado toast for four days straight trying to use them all up.

Hit 500 engine rebuilds last week and it hit me different than I expected

Man those 5.9 Cummins blocks are tanks but they'll still hand you a knuckle sandwich if you rush the timing. My buddy runs a fleet of old Dodge Rams for his tree service and we pulled one apart last spring that had 400k on it still running but blowing oil everywhere. Turned out the rear main seal had turned into plastic basically. Took three tries to get the new one seated right because my fat fingers kept wiggling it crooked. That day I must have dropped the same 15mm socket into the oil pan four times before I finally taped a magnet to my wrist. By the time we fired it up I smelled like diesel and shame but that engine purred like a kitten.

Just found a way to use my monthly review as a conversation starter

Yo that's wild, I think the barista drawing the coffee cup is actually a bigger deal than people realize. @lane.eric bringing up the pocket trick is solid but here's something nobody is talking about: those little random interactions are basically free feedback loops for your system. Like if a stranger gets curious about one thing you track vs another, that's telling you what's actually interesting about your journal setup. I started paying attention to what parts of my bujo people ask about and it helped me drop the boring stuff I was just filling out of habit. Now I only keep like three spreads that actually make people say "whoa what's that" and my journal got way more useful lol.

TIL my $30 caulk gun was ruining every bathroom project I did

Wait, did your buddy Dave's gun feel way heavier than the cheap ones? My friend Marcus went through like 4 tubes of silicone on his shower rebuild before he realized his $15 caulk gun from a big box store had a bent plunger rod the whole time. He said it was binding up and making this awful squeaking noise every time he pulled the trigger, but he thought that was just normal. When he finally borrowed a nicer one from a tile guy he knew, he texted me a video of the first bead just flowing out perfectly and called himself an idiot for not upgrading sooner lol.
