Had a chat with a waitress at Frontier that stuck with me
She remembered my order from two months ago and asked if I still wanted extra green chile on the side. It made me realize how much those small moments of being seen matter, especially in a city where everyone seems to rush past each other. Has anyone else had a server or cashier do something like that that just stayed with you?

You say "it's rare when someone actually pays attention like that in a busy spot" but I think you're selling those workers short. Frontier is famous for that kind of thing, it's not rare at all. I've had the cashier remember I like my tortillas extra crispy and the guy at the salsa bar ask if I'm skipping the red stuff today. It's not about some special order code like "Christmas," it's about them actually looking at you instead of just ringing up a transaction. That waitress probably remembered the green chile because OP was someone who took two seconds to be decent to her, not because of some menu trick.

Real quick though, extra green chile on the side at Frontier is technically called "Christmas" if you get both red and green, so maybe she just remembered you liking green. But yeah, totally get the feeling, it's rare when someone actually pays attention like that in a busy spot.

Try just asking for green chile on the side by name next time and see if she brings it up first. After a few visits they start remembering little details like that even if they don't say anything. It's usually the small things like how you treat them that makes them lock in your preference.
