I finally saw what a 2 second clip can do and it scares me for my nephew
My nephew is 19 and works at a car wash in Boise. Last month he filmed himself doing a dumb dance with a sponge and somehow got 4 million views overnight, and now he's gotten DMs from three different brands asking him to promote stuff. He thinks he's set for life but he already quit his job. What worries me is that he has no plan at all for when the views stop coming, and none of us know how to warn him without sounding jealous.
Have you asked him what happens when the brand deals dry up in a month or two? That money can vanish fast, and 4 million views on one silly clip doesn't mean the next one will hit. I get why you're scared, because he's young and riding the high and quitting the car wash made it real. Maybe just tell him you're proud of him but want him to keep a backup plan, not come at him like you're jealous or raining on his parade.
