Viral video made me famous for 3 days, then everyone forgot my name
Tbh I posted a 15 second clip of my dog opening the fridge last March and it hit 2 million views by Friday. Local news in Columbus called me, a podcast offered $200 to talk about it, and my cousin's wedding photographer recognized me at a gas station. But by June nobody cared and I still get people asking if I'm the guy from that one video, then they walk away mid sentence. Has anyone else dealt with the weird letdown after the spike, and how did you keep your real life from feeling boring after that?
Man, two million views and a podcast offer just for your dog being a little thief? That part got me. My dog can barely figure out how to open a cabinet with his nose, let alone a whole fridge. That quick drop from being somebody to being nobody has to mess with your head, though. Sounds like you went from getting recognized at gas stations to standing in line like everyone else, which is a weird kind of whiplash. Probably the best thing is to just laugh at it now and remember that fame is basically just a random Tuesday that got out of hand.
