Unpopular opinion: my $18 foam pad beat my $120 inflatable on a 4 night trip in Utah

I used to be all about my fancy inflatable, swore I'd never go back to foam. Then mine sprung a leak on night three of a trip and I spent the rest of the time on a friend's old foam pad, slept like a rock. Now it rides in my pack as backup no matter what.

Realized at my 200th cleaning that I was angling the scaler all wrong

Was the 45 angle something you picked up from a previous office or did it just feel natural when you started? Curious because I had a similar thing happen where my old boss never corrected me and I didn't find out until a patient asked why their gums felt so sore after every visit. That was a rough day. Did your mentor show you on a typodont first or did she just watch you and call it out mid patient?

TIL my uncle was right about not buying a house near Central and Louisiana

Learned the same lesson with a house I bought near a school zone because it was cheap, and now I get to wake up to crossing guards yelling at 7am every day. Turns out the only thing I saved was money, and I spent all of it on noise cancelling headphones and a sump pump. Your uncle Ray sounds like the kind of guy who's annoying right up until he's completely right.
