Can we talk about how I fixed my ads by just talking out loud near my phone?

Two years ago my feed was all random junk, nothing I cared about. Then I read a tip on an old forum: say what you want out loud near your phone. I tried it on a walk in Tucson, said "cast iron skillet" three times, and by dinner I had skillets in every ad slot. It stopped working right around when I got a new phone in March. Did the trick die, or am I just saying the words wrong now?
