My sister swore the algorithm only works if you say stuff out loud, and now I get ads for things I never even typed
I laughed at her for 2 months until I said "my back hurts" out loud while scrolling and got 8 ads for posture correctors by dinner. Tested it again with "wedding gift for a guy who fishes" and now my feed is full of $60 bass lures. Anyone else notice talking about it works faster than typing, or am I just losing it?
The algorithm only works if you say stuff out loud" is funny but here's the part that gets me. Your phone isn't really listening for words, it's listening for the pattern of how you talk. When you type, you edit yourself. You pick clean words and full sentences. When you talk out loud you ramble, pause, repeat stuff, and that messy way of talking is way easier for a mic to pick up and sort.
Also the timing thing makes sense. Typing leaves a clear trail of keywords, but talking is just noise until something grabs the mic's attention. So the lag you saw with the posture correctors might've just been the system waiting to confirm you meant it, not a fluke.
Weirdest part is my buddy got ads for a leaf blower after complaining about leaves out loud on his porch. Never said the word blower once. Phone was inside. Still trying to figure that one out.
