I clicked a fake trailer ad for a movie that does not exist and lost $35 on a streaming signup
Last month I was on Facebook and saw a 45 second trailer for a dinosaur movie that looked amazing, so I tapped it and it sent me to a streaming site I had never heard of. The signup page said $35 for a year and promised early access, so I paid with my card before the trailer even finished. Turns out the whole thing was a fake ad, the movie is not real, and the site charged me again two weeks later for a plan I never picked. Has anyone else gotten hit by one of these trailer ads that sends you to a sketchy signup page, and did your bank actually give the money back?
