TIL that $5,000 anti-aging face cream ad with the 'doctor' was actually a real dermatologist
I kept seeing this ad on my feed for 3 months straight, some fancy cream with a woman in a white coat saying it erases 10 years in 14 days. I reported it twice as a scam because no way that price tag of $180 an ounce was real science. Last week my sister dragged me to a skin clinic in Phoenix and the actual dermatologist there, Dr. Chen, pulled up the same product and said she recommends it for fine lines. She showed me the ingredient list and it had the same stuff as the $12 drugstore stuff plus one peptide. So now I'm out $180 and my face looks the same, but at least I know it wasn't a total lie. Has anyone else had a doctor back up something they swore was a fake ad?
