I listened to this guy named Mark from a popular ad podcast and dropped my daily spend during a test phase, and my conversion rate tanked by 40% in 3 days because I didn't have enough data to optimize - anyone else deal with bad advice from those 'experts'?

Why would you drop your budget that fast during a test phase? That's basic stuff, you need at least a week of data before you start touching anything. Mark sounds like another guru who never actually runs ads himself, just talks about them. I've seen the same thing happen when people jump on those "cut spend to find your winners" tricks.

Well sometimes a lower budget forces you to focus on only your best performing ads and cuts the dead weight fast.
