Appreciation post: the jingle my dad hummed wrong for 20 years finally got solved
My dad used to hum the last line of that old Oscar Mayer bologna song wrong, and it drove me nuts every single road trip. Last Tuesday I found a 1973 upload of the original ad with the full kids chorus, and the real words are "'cause Oscar Mayer has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A," which he'd been singing as "bologna has a way with me." I called him at like 9pm and played it, and he just laughed and said he hadn't heard it since he was 12 in Akron. Twenty years of a fake lyric, gone in one YouTube clip. Anyone else have a family member who's been singing an ad jingle wrong this whole time?
